Craftsmanship has never existed in isolation.
Throughout history, knowledge of woodworking has been passed down through workshops, master craftsmen, apprentices and communities of practice. Building has always depended not only on individual skill, but also on collaboration, trust and collective effort.
As we prepare for VILAMATERIA’s first Timber Frame Workshop, we are deeply grateful for the support of partners who believe in the importance of preserving and passing on traditional timber-working knowledge through hands-on practice in a real-world setting.
We would like to thank Segmento Base, Rothoblaas Portugal, and Bostik Portugal for the technical and material support that has helped make this workshop possible.
Special thanks also go to Domingos Nunes (Segmento Base), Ricardo Braz (Rothoblass Portugal) and Ricardo Candeias (Bostik Portugal) for the trust, willingness and enthusiasm with which they have embraced this project from the outset.
These partnerships represent something more than a simple technical collaboration. They represent a shared vision: the conviction that craftsmanship, material intelligence and traditional building techniques continue to hold a significant place in contemporary practice.
At VILAMATERIA, we view the workshops not merely as technical courses, but as spaces for the transmission of knowledge, practical learning and collective building.
The work continues — together.
